The International Astronomical Union's Minor Planet Center announced 'Saturn' as the new 'Moon King' on October 7,2019.
Under the guidance of an astronomer at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington, D.C.
Scott Sheppard the team has discovered 20 new Moons of Saturn.
They employed the Sabaru Telescope in Hawaii and found that three of the newfound Moons are prograde, orbiting in the same direction that Saturn rotates, while 17 are retrograde, traveling in the opposite direction.
Each is between 2 and 5 kilometers wide. With this, the figure of Moons of Saturn has reached 82. With this, Saturn has surpassed Jupiter, the previous record holder of having maximum number of Moons i.e. 79
